I am here to offer you a couple of the best internet marketing tips out there. It is crucial that you understand why black hat tactics are so detrimental to your blogging. You know the story of how the young boy was asked to smoke and he said “Maybe I will just try it once.” Don’t be fooled. Curiosity killed the cat. Even just using these black hat tactics once can bring your blog down.

So what are black hat tactics? Good question. Black hat tactics are defined by Google as “The practice of trying to gain ranking by tricking or cheating the search engines. This is a very bad practice that can not only drop you from the engines but in some cases can lead to litigation.” These tactics sound like an obvious no-no, but you would be surprised at the number of people who use these tactics. And listen, if you are one of those people… here are a few great reasons why you might want to reconsider the method to your madness.

1. Not even once.

Using these black hat tactics, such as cloaking or duplicating content, WILL lead to a loss of money at some point. You might be able to get away with these tactics for a week or so, but eventually the Googlebots (Google Spiders) will notice what’s up and you will be penalized. Your ranking that you had worked on for so long will be dropped dramatically if not entirely banned from Google and other search engines. Did you just hear dollars being flushed down the toilet? You heard right. Don’t make the mistake of giving into these tactics even once. The first time could be the killer.

2. You can’t hide the obvious.

Maybe these tactics are not obvious to the untrained human eye, but you cannot get past the Google Spiders. Hidden text in the background, hidden affiliate links, search engines in search engines, invisible links, and other tricks alike can all be spied by the Googlebots. It doesn’t matter how smooth you think you are, you are never smooth enough to get away with using these tricks and tactics.

3. Just because he jumps off the bridge doesn’t mean that you should too.

So rumors are floating around that your best friend is going to host a bridge jumping party. Everyone that you know is going to be there and when the moon is out and the clock strikes midnight, they are all going to jump off the bridge with a big hoorah into the cold creek below. We all know the story. Just because your friends are doing it doesn’t mean that you should too, especially if it is something as dangerous as black hat SEO. Why would you risk everything that you have worked so hard to build up on tactics that have proven lethal. Good question, right? Original content is going to take you much farther that any black hat techniques would.

Obviously this article is not for everyone. If you’re already killing it in your business and making a load of money, then this is not for you.

But if not, does it feel like you’re trying hard, doing everything you can to make sales and nothing happens?

Did you pay hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars to join a business opportunity but haven’t made any sales, even worse, haven’t made your investment back?

What in the world is going on? WHY ARE YOU NOT MAKING SALES like you thought you would when you joined this business?

The answer might surprise you…

Today while we were having breakfast at a local diner here in Marco Island, FL, my son was playing with some Lincoln logs, and I jokingly said: “Jadon, build it and they will come.”

This statement then took my mind to a series of analogies that lead me to a truth I believe is the reason most people fail in any business:

The answer to your lack of sales and cash flow is NOT ‘build it and they will come’.

The answer is PROMOTE and they will come.

The amount of people that join a business and think they will make millions overnight just because they joined the ‘best’ opportunity out there is ALARMING.

I don’t care what anybody says…

Perhaps you paid $200 to join a great business opportunity. Maybe your investment was $2000, or $11,000, or more.

IT DOESN’T MATTER.

What matters is: What are YOU DOING TODAY to PROMOTE your business and getting more eyeballs to look at your website and what you have to offer?

THAT’S WHAT MATTERS.

You can only make money 2 ways, no matter what business you’re in:

(1) Increase the amount of eyeballs that view your offer.

or

(2) Make more money per eyeball.

I will write about #2 in a later post, but now I want to talk about #1, how fatal not promoting can be for your business; how to increase the amount of people that view your offer (i.e.: driving more traffic to your website.)

Advertising shouldn’t be seen as an expense but more as an investment.

Any smart businessman allots a portion of profits and/or investment to advertising the business, otherwise, how are you going to get those eyeballs that could be potencial buyers?

So don’t underestimate the power of advertising and promoting your business. One of the easiest ways to get started in any budget is by using PPC (pay-per-click) advertising with one of the major search engines, or a smaller reliable search engine like 7search.com.

I’d be bold enough to say that probably the #1 MISTAKE MOST ENTREPRENEURS MAKE and the #1 REASON OF FAILURE IS:

Thinking that just for joining a business money will be made and not taking time and money to invest in promoting your business.

I forget who said this, might have been advertising genius Oglivy: “If I had a million dollars to start a business I’d invest $100,000 on the business and $900,000 on advertising the business”.

Enough said.

So from now on I encourage you to see advertising as an investment in your future, as a seed that you’re planting and will harvest profits from.

Without a seed a harvest cannot be harvested. Period.

What’s the #1 mistake most newbies make in network marketing when trying to promote online?

Wanna know how to get the #1 position on Google for any keyword you want?

Today I’m going to show you, very briefly, two of my secret weapons. One of them I’ve been using for over 2.5 years and the other one since it launched.

But no proof, no belief, right? So here’s proof of some of the websites I have taken to the top of the search engines on very competitive keywords.

OK now that you know I’m for real, let me show you how I do it and how you can get top positions on all the major search engines quickly and easily.

Here’s my step by step process and the reveal of 2, well, actually, 3 of my secret weapons:

1- Write 3 articles of 6 paragraphs each on a subject related to your keyword. For SUPER FAST WRITING I use this awesome research tool that virtually writes all my articles for me in 15 minutes or less: Instant Article Wizard. I’m surprised not a lot of people know about this amazing tool, so keep the secret, alright?

2- Make sure to include your keyword on the titles and on the first paragraph of each article whenever possible. If possible, make your keyword a clickable link that leads to your website once in the article. Make your article INFORMATIVE. Teach something to someone, don’t try to ‘sell’ your business, product or service; keep it informative.

3- Add a resource box to your articles with something like: “To find out more about how to make money online, visit my website now.”

NOTICE that my keyword in this example is ‘how to make money online’, thus, I made this a clickable link that leads to the website I want to optimize.

To make any keyword a clickable link that leads to your website, just copy and paste this simple code on your articles and modify them to show your website and keyword:

<a href=”http://www.YOURWEBSITEHERE.com>YOUR KEYWORD HERE</a>

4- Submit your articles to Unique Article Wizard and MyArticleNetwork (hint hint, SECRET WEAPONS HERE)

5- Repeat steps 1-4 at least 3x a week for each keyword you want to optimize and VOILA!

The real secret of this strategy is the fact that you get so many backlinks when you submit articles to the search engines, that the search engines find your website to be relevant to the keyword that you use in your anchor text or clickable link.

Even better, these are one-way links which means, you don’t have to post a link to the article directory website on your own website to get a link back to yours. So basically the article directory is ‘voting’ and saying your site is relevant without you having to reciprocate.

That is powerful right there!
